Maurilio Velasco
I tell stories of adventure and identity, born from the mist and evergreens of the PNW.
Maurilio Velasco writes from the misty corners of the Pacific Northwest, where rain lingers on evergreens and stories bloom in the quiet. His debut fantasy novel, Relics of the Shattered Veil: The Sunforged Shard, began as a personal project and has grown into the foundation of Relics Press, a home for stories built on wonder, heart, and the belief that independent voices matter. Maurilio’s work explores the meeting point between myth and memory. His worlds feel lived-in and lyrical, where ruins breathe, magic lingers in forgotten corners, and characters carry both scars and hope. Across his projects—from the sweeping Relics trilogy to the cozy, reflective Mint and Mist—his writing celebrates found family, self-discovery, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again. When he isn’t writing, Maurilio can often be found behind a vendor table at local markets, signing books at Pacific Northwest bookstores, or connecting with readers over tea and conversation. He believes stories are meant to be shared face-to-face as much as on the page, and he brings that same spirit of community to everything Relics Press creates.
